Music
All classes follow the National Curriculum scheme of work for Music and we ensure a progression of skills from EYFS to year 6. Music forms part of all topics and is part of our broad and balanced curriculum.
At Buglawton, Year 3 children receive weekly violin lessons from an expert teacher. In addition, during the school day, children have the opportunity for personal music lessons. The instruments currently being taught include piano, keyboard, guitar, and violin. All of these lessons are taught by Music for Life.
In the Spring term, childen in key stage 2 are given the oppotunity to take part in the Singfest concert held at our local town hall. In preperation, children participating take part in choir rehearsals ran by out local music hub.
At Buglawton we also offer free places to our choir and recorder clubs which take place after school and are lead by school staff. Pupils will then perform at the end of the Spring term to their parents. We believe this is a fantastic opportunity to sing and perform to an audience on a large scale and is a fantastic experience.
