Dear Neighbour,

We are writing out of courtesy to let you know that you may soon receive notification from Cheshire East Council of a planning application for the school.

For your reassurance – our intended works only include the demolition of the existing demountable building towards the lower edge of our site, which is considered to be beyond its useable life, and replacement with a permanent, more efficient brick building to continue as the home of our on-site pre-school. We have drawn up our plans with our neighbours in mind – with our intention to replace child height windows that currently overlook our boundary to become higher windows, meaning that our nearest neighbours will no longer be overlooked.

At such time that planning permission is hopefully approved, we remain entirely committed to respecting you as our neighbours and mitigating the impact of works during this time. We are hoping that works will commence soon before the Summer Holidays, following a 10-week work programme. To demonstrate our commitment to being considerate neighbours – we have also included questions in the contract procurement document which make specific reference to mitigating the impacts upon our neighbours throughout the course of this work.

I hope that you might be able to support our intentions to improve our facilities for current and future generations of learners at Buglawton Primary School. However, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school and I would be happy to meet with you to discuss further.

Kind regards,
